So, let's see your predictions for our record this year.
Looking at the schedule I have us at 6-10 as I have a lot of concerns going in to the season.
I think we have regressed on the O-line. We seem to have taken something that worked very well and broken it. We have to be able to run between the tackles without resorting to the wildcat all the while.
Hopefully now things get real we will find the cohesion to have a good unit but it's an area that has concerned me so far.
Our pass rush looks very poor. I know we have played a very vanilla defence so far during preseason but we just haven't looked like getting regular pressure on the QB. I think there are still doubts on whether Wake can be a full time starter and Misi hasn't really impressed me. The fact that Alama-Francis seems to have jumped more in to the coaches minds makes me wonder if Misi is gonna be another failed draft pick.
Our secondary still also concerns me. Sean Smith does not look like the player we had high hopes for last season right now. Will Allen not making it back is disappointing and we will really miss Nate Jones. Add in we still aren't sure how Clemons will pan out at safety and I do fear teams will put quick scores up against us again.
Our start to the season is pretty brutal after the Bills game. Unless we play quality, mistake free football I don't think it's out of the question we could go 1-7 in those first 8 games. And I still fear we will find a way to lose at Buffalo.
Hopefully a lot of the question marks will turn out positive once things start to get going for real, but I think we still have too many parts missing to be a playoff team.
